A walking Tour of Devon, or, a visit to the locations concerning King Arthur and the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, perhaps a visit to find a village and area concerning an ancestor. All of the United Kingdom is open to you. I will meet with you personally if possible, or speak with you directly by telephone and email. After the initial information is compiled, I will then design your tour to your specifications. I will then make all travel (except for air travel), accommodation and activity reservations as well as all dining reservations. All of the bookings are done By Your Tour UK, so that you can begin to enjoy your holiday even before your arrival.
With the self guided tour you will receive the comprehensive itinerary, maps, and everything that you will need. Your Tour UK will make all of the holiday bookings and reservations and will then be in contact either by telephone or email through the entirety of your tour. If you decide on having me as your personal guide, YTUK will design the tour, make all of the bookings and greet you as you arrive into the United Kingdom and then lead you through your exceptional tour.

Either as your tour guide or as a self guided tour, I welcome you to partake of these themed tours designed with great care and measure with the guest in mind. The eight current tours are each a week in length, and suitable for up to six persons, keeping the tours informative and personal, with plenty of surprises. The themed tours can be combined to create a longer holiday. The Themed tours can also be booked as a private tour.
Agatha Christie Tour
LONDON: A performance of D. Agatha Christie's classic, the longest running play in history, The Mousetrap. A 1930's dinner and drinks party. Enjoy a Horses Neck, or a G&T while discussing the latest mystery and dancing ( or just listening) to period music. Then, onto the sumptuous dinner, with a viewing of "Murder at the Vicarage" to follow. On the second day… an afternoon in London. A tea at the Tea Room - Harrods; crumpets, sandwiches, and hotpots will all be available. After tea, there will be a gentle saunter to the many fine boutiques and clothiers. Feel like Tuppence for the day. TORQUAY: The birth place of Dame Agatha, also known as the English Riviera, this truly is Agatha Christie country. Explore the Church used by Dame Agatha, then to the Museum to view the D. Agatha Christie exhibit, and a stop at the Pavilion, the very place where Archibald Christie proposed.A splendid walk along the "Agatha Christie Mile", There is nothing like the sound of the gulls and cracking views from the cliffs along Tor bay. With a splendid ride on Barnaby, a vintage bus built in the 1940's, relive the excitement of a bygone time. A walking tour of Greenway House, the home of Dame Agatha form 1938 t0 1976, including a stroll through the various lawns and gardens. Relive the past with a ride on the Steam Railway departing from Paignton. The tour also includes a mystery dinner. ST. MARY MEAD: Actually Nether Wallop. Home to the clever spinster who always has the answer in the end, Miss Marple. Nether Wallop, the location for the Lionheart/BBC production with Joan Hickson. See the famous cottage, visit the church featured in "Murder at the Vicarage", and stroll through the village square. Lunch will be taken at a local pub with a presentation about the life and writings of Dame Agatha, not to be missed.
Jane Austen Tour
HAMPSHIRE: While staying in Steventon, (near Basingstoke), the birthplace of Jane Austen, and, where she began her writings of Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, as well as Northanger Abbey, There will be a day trip to Andover, Alton, and Alresford, the very places Jane herself would spend an afternoon shopping. A visit to Jane Austen's final resting place, Winchester Cathedral will follow, and there will be a viewing of "Northanger Abbey" with local and period fare in the evening. Feel as if you where living within the Georgian Period. The Romance and culture of that time still beckons and captivates, and this tour will allow you to experience the beauty of the various locations set within many of her novels. While learning more about the works and life of one of the greatest writers of all time, the stories will come to life during this tour and will enchant and enthrall. ALTON/ SOUTHAMPTON: There will be a lovely lunch and stroll in the village of Southhampton, this is where jane lived from 1806 until 1809, and then onto Chawton Cottage, Jane Austen's country cottage. From 1809 until her death in 1817, this cottage was where she lived with her mother and sister Cassandra. The cottage itself is a seventeenth century house in the centre of Chawton, which is now a museum. Upon arriving to the cottage she had three novels well started, Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, and Northanger Abbey, to which she may have made actual revisions while living here.BATH: Experience the life of Jane Austen during her time in Bath (1801-1806). See where she lived, view the glorious Georgian architecture, with a special visit to the Royal Crescent; to which there will be a proper English picnic, with a reading from Pride & Prejudice, (weather permitting). Enjoy a stroll through the Botanical Gardens at Victoria Park, including the dell, while participating in a scavenger hunt. There will also be a stop at the Bath Abbey to bask in the pageantry of a musical programme. While staying in Bath, there will be a special addition to the tour. Drift back in time, literally, as one makes their way through the Roman Baths, a true ancient wonder, including the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, the Roman Bath House and the Museum. In 2005, the site was featured on the television programme Seven Natural Wonders. A sumptuous tea at the Grand Pump Room within the Abbey Church Yard, and a delightful Pub dinner in the heart of the city will be on hand for your enjoyment.
